£15,000 out of court settlement for a fall
In 2003 a Sheffield City Council employee working in the Social Services department fell down a flight of stairs whilst at work and injured her shoulder during the fall. It was established that she caught the heel of her shoe on a loose carpet tile at the top of the stairs, which caused her to fall down 17 stairs. After regular physiotherapy she was informed that she would have to have surgery on the injured right shoulder and this was performed in late 2006.
Irwin Mitchell successfully claimed against Sheffield City Council on behalf of the council worker and obtained a £15,000 out of court settlement.
