Neck Injuries
£5,000 injury compensation for neck ligament injury
A compensation claim was made on behalf of a hospital staff nurse that suffered neck and shoulder ligament damage when lifting a patient out of a wheelchair as a precursor to an x-ray examination. The claim was successful because it was proved that the hospital had failed to fully implement the relevant Manual Handling regulations and as a consequence the staff nurse was awarded £5,000 for their injuries.
Neck injuries at work are not uncommon and can be sustained through a variety of mechanisms of injury. One of the most common types of neck injury is whiplash injury. More specific information on this type of injury is available on our sister site specialising in whiplash compensation claims.
